HISTORY
Copper State Derby League and Sabino Canyon Skate Club is a group of dedicated athletes who have formed a grassroots, skater-owned and skater-operated Roller Derby League and Skate Club based in Tucson, AZ.
CSDL & SCSC is a new skate organization that goes above and beyond to help the local community and contributes to local charities.
Copper State Derby League and Sabino Canyon Skate Club always welcomes newcomers and aspires to build one of the strongest, most highly competitive Roller Derby teams that the Southwest has to offer. Along with the most inclusive skate club you can find that provides a safe space for all.
MISSION & VISION
Copper State Derby League and Sabino Canyon Skate Club, are all about having fun and embracing each other no matter their "Differences".
CSDL & SCSC's mission is to provide a safe environment for all by being a close knit, inclusive and diverse community.
CSDL & SCSC embraces, acknowledges, accepts, learns and values the differences amongst the skaters and contributing members. “Differences” refers to many entities: social class, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, culture, language, personality and/or education.
Bigotry and hatred within this skate community and surroundings is not and will not be tolerated. Copper State Derby League and Sabino Canyon Skate Club takes pride in actively working within our league and in our community to promote inclusiveness and respect for all. We want every skater, volunteer and contributing member to feel included and supported on and off the track or skate events that are hosted.
COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
As Copper State Derby League & Sabino Canyon Skate Club are almost entirely volunteer-run. Copper State Derby League & Sabino Canyon Skate Club offer opportunities for skaters, contributing members and community volunteers to learn professional skills . They will be working and training along side experienced professionals in the fields of media, photography, marketing, development, athletic training, event planning, graphic design and so much more.
Volunteers and contributing members are encouraged to work along side and support local non-profit organizations whose missions resonate and reflects the CSDL and SCSC's mission. CSDL and SCSC are striving to build a strong, supportive, and welcoming community of skaters, fans, volunteers, and other organizations.
